We’re so excited to welcome your child to the farm! Here’s exactly what you can expect — plus what to bring, wear, and prepare for — so your experience is safe, smooth, and joyful from the very first day.
We’re so excited to welcome your child to the farm! Here’s exactly what you can expect — plus what to bring, wear, and prepare for — so your experience is safe, smooth, and joyful from the very first day.
While every program is slightly different, most sessions follow this general rhythm:
Drop-Off:
Parents check in with staff and make sure their child is ready to start the day (water, sunscreen, etc.)
Circle Time:
We begin with connection — kids gather for expectations, introductions, and what’s planned for the day.
Rotations & Activities:
Hands-on experiences with animals, nature learning, horsemanship, gardening, crafts, and more.
Wrap-Up & Clean-Up:
We end with closing thoughts, reflection, and a transition back to parent pick-up.
Please label all items with your child’s name.
Reusable water bottle (filled)
Sack lunch (if staying through lunch or Lunch Bunch)
Healthy snack (for breaks)
Sunscreen (applied before arrival)
Bug spray (optional)
Any medications (must be labeled and handed directly to staff)
Change of clothes (optional but encouraged for younger kids)
We recommend comfortable, farm-appropriate clothing:
Closed-toe shoes or boots (required — no sandals or Crocs)
Long pants (especially for horseback activities)
Weather-appropriate tops (layers in cooler months, lightweight in summer)
Hat or cap (for sun protection)
Hair tied back (for riding and animal care)
Rain gear (during monsoon season)
Children WILL get dusty, muddy, and wet — and we love that.
Drop-off & Pick-up
Please arrive on time. Late arrivals disrupt group flow and riding schedules.
Parent Participation
Some programs (like Homeschool Barnyard Buddies for under age 6) require parent presence — details will be noted in your confirmation email.
Allergies or Sensitivities?
Let us know in advance so we can make any needed accommodations.
We are an outdoor farm school, which means:
Weather is part of the learning — we run in sun, wind, and light rain
Animals are part of the team — expect real-life mess, noise, and joy
Nature is the classroom — we encourage curiosity and kindness toward all living things
